Bayreuther Festspiele Stipendium

The Wagner Stiftung of Bayreuth gives M° Griglio the stipendium for the Bayreuther Festspiele 2010.

Wagner conceived the Bayreuth Festival as a popular event, such as those that took place in ancient Greece. At that time the theater entrance was free. So too the events of Bayreuth were designed initially as free. When, for obvious reasons, this did not prove possible, Wagner in 1882, a year before his death, advocated the setting up of a new "patronage", which would at least offer free admission to the festival to "young gifted friends of my art". Thus arose the "Richard Wagner Foundation Scholarship", established at Bayreuth.

Through sponsorship of the Richard Wagner association in Venice, M°Griglio was selected for the Bayreuther Festspiele 2010.

On May 26, 2010 has been held in Venice, at Ca 'Vendramin Calergi - the house where Wagner died, now a museum - a concert in honor of the winners of the fellowship, during which have also been performed selected compositions of M°Griglio.
