Alexander Scriabin Symphony No.1, Op. 26. performed by the Radio Sinfonie Orchester Frankfurt under Eliahu Inbal with mezzosoprano Doris Soffel, tenor Fausto Tenzi and the Frankfurter Kantorei.
Written between 1899 and 1900, this symphony is one of the great Scriabin frescoes. At the premiere though, the finale (for which Scriabin wrote the text himself) was omitted, considered to be too difficult to perform. It was also omitted in the first edition of the score, published by a house headed by Rimsky-Korsakov, Glazunov and Lyadov (who also conducted the premiere).
